Since the Software version 6.07 the BAT radio software offers a sophisticate teacher-student menu. This feature offers you the possibility to control a model with 2 radios.

  • The connection between the radios is established via a standard 3.5mm stereo-phone jack (TRS connector):
  • Pilot / Operator Mode only works between two BAT 6x radios.
  • Teacher / Student Mode works with one BAT 6x radio and any other transmitter which offers a PPM signal output/input
  • Student and Operator mode will switch the 2.4GHz output OFF
  • The menu offers 6 different kind of "modes" which you can choose.
    • PPM off, this is the default mode. No Signal at the PPM jack at the radio.
    • PPM on, if activated the 3.5mm PPM port will give a common PPM signal (12 channels), which you could use for example for flight simulators.
    • Teacher, now you can use any other radio which gives a proper PPM signal as a student radio.
      • First choose a control which will "deactivate" the overruling of the "input channels". If no proper PPM signal is detected the teacher controls are automatically activated.
    • Student, the BAT radio will turn off the 2.4Ghz and will give the common PPM signal at the 3.5mm PPM jack
    • Pilot, this mode is only made for communication between two BAT radios, so it requires another BAT radio at operator mode.
      • Choose a control which will "Enable" or "Disable" the additional remote controls of the "operator radio". If no proper digital signal is detected the backup controls are automatically activated.
      • Functions can now be controlled by the "Additional remote channels". You Teacher Student will find the "Remote Input" 1 to 12 at the common "Control Assignment".
    • Operator, this mode is only made for communication between two BAT radios, so it requires another BAT radio at pilot mode.
